The US units of several Chinese PV giants and prominent domestic companies have banded together in the Coalition for Affordable Solar Energy (CASE) to oppose the anti-dumping and countervailing duty petition of SolarWorld and its allies in the Coalition for American Solar Manufacturing (CASM).
The US International Trade Commission (ITC) held initial hearings Tuesday as part of its preliminary review of the SolarWorld/CASM complaint, which alleges that Chinese crystalline silicon PV (CSPV) manufacturers illegally dumped cells and modules on the US market to defeat domestic competitors, and benefitted from illegal Chinese government subsidies.
