UK 'needs to view energy storage as a service, not a technology'

The association's market study Cracking the Code, commissioned from consultancy Everoze, calculates that energy storage systems (ESS) would make possible the £2.4bn ($3.2bn) consumer savings set as a 2030 target by the Department of Energy and Climate Change.

But the authors warn that a switch to viewing ESS as a service rather than a technology is needed to "tackle head-on the primary risk holding back the roll-out of energy storage: securing a bankable revenue stream".
