The new production facility in Rayong is expected to be up and running late this year or early in 2016.
Trina – the world’s biggest PV module producer by volume in 2014 – said the facility will “diversify and expand Trina Solar's existing manufacturing capacity to meet growing demand from both our established key markets and emerging markets”.
A large production plant outside China will offer Trina a chance to supply major markets in Asia and beyond from a jurisdiction free of the trade-dispute complications associated with direct exports from its homeland or neighbouring Taiwan.
