The strategic supply agreement announced Monday calls for the panels to be delivered in 2010. Toshiba, which entered the solar photovoltaic business just over a year ago, will begin its residential programme 1 April.
The company selected SunPower panels for their space-saving design and efficiency, key factors in the Japanese residential market, where rooftops are smaller, Toshiba executive Shoji Takenaka says in a statement.
