The company and its affiliates, formed by Germany's insolvent Solar Millennium with additional investment from Ferrostaal AG, filed for bankruptcy earlier this month after funds from the parent companies dried up.

Now, STA aims to sell the rights to develop three projects: the 1GW Blythe project in California -- billed as the largest solar development in the world -- as well as the Palen and Amargosa Valley projects, 500MW each, in California and Nevada, respectively.
