Southern Power has signed 25-year power purchase agreements with three electric cooperatives in the state, who will also acquire associated renewable energy credits (RECs).
Cobb Electric Membership Corporation will purchase 101MW, and Flint Energies in central Georgia and Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation in north Georgia will take 15MW each.
Southern Power has contracted First Solar to provide 1.6 million thin-film PV modules, and be the engineering, procurement and construction contractor for the facility.
