The company says it will develop, design and build an 18MW power plant for Arizona Public Service (APS), the state’s largest utility. Arizona utilities are required by the state's renewable energy standard to use renewable sources for 15% of their electricity by 2025.
The plant, to be built on about 145 acres (0.6sq km) in Gila Bend, Arizona, will use SOLON’s Velocity MW modular system design, which consists of standardised 1MW units including panels, trackers, cabling, inverters, a medium-voltage transformer and the software to operate it, all in a tidy, cost-optimised package.
