The Solar Technology Acceleration Center (SolarTAC) will be outfitted with infrastructure such as access roads, electric power supply and distribution lines and more to allow companies to quickly deploy new modules, mounting systems, electrical configurations and more. Much of that work is to be completed by the end of this year.
The city of Aurora provided land for the 32-hectare test site, which will host technology and facilities of SolarTAC members, including Abengoa Solar, SunEdison and Xcel Energy, an investor-owned utility that initiated the concept.
