SMA Solar to cut one-third of staff as European demand plunges

SMA Solar Technology, the world's largest maker of PV inverters, is planning to cut about 1,600 full-time positions – or more than a third of its staff of 4,667 – due to a decline in sales amid plunging demand in Europe.
