The transaction will also give SMA a seat on Tigo Energy's board and exclusive sales right to the Silicon Valley-based company's TS4 Retrofit product platform for 30 months.
TS4 aims at maximising energy yields, the simplification of system planning and installation, fire safety, and cloud-based monitoring of system availability.
With the strategic partnership with Tigo, SMA said it expects to access the fast growing market for module-level power electronics (MLPE) that has an estimated annual market volume of about €700m ($796.34m).
