Natural gas led all energy sources through June with 6.589GW of new installed capacity, followed by solar (1.682GW) and wind (1.421GW). They accounted for 9.692GW of 9.925GW new capacity nationwide.
Other new capacity sources were hydro (190MW), biomass (41MW), and oil (2MW), with no coal.
On 30 June, the US had 1.168 terawatts of available installed generating capacity, up slightly from 1.161TW
