Sharp turned in a net loss of ¥125.8bn ($1.3bn) for the full year, compared to a profit of ¥101.9bn in 2007. The company notched an operating loss of ¥55.5bn, as revenues dropped 16.7% to ¥2,850bn.
Sharp expects to return to profitability in 2009, foreseeing a net income of ¥3bn. But it warns that sales will slide a further 3.4% to settle at ¥2,750bn.
