The state’s largest electric utility expects the Kinsley Solar Farm to enter service in second quarter 2015.
The project will convert one-quarter of the landfill site to provide enough grid-connected electricity to power about 2,000 average-size homes annually. The landfill closed in 1987.
It is the utility's third project to transform New Jersey's landfill space into clean, energy-producing solar farms, through its Solar 4 All program.
