PSE&G, the state’s largest electric utility, would add the capacity on brownfield sites and landfills within its service territory. The investment would create 575 direct jobs during construction.
The company’s Solar 4 All program has installed 53MW thus far in those locations and also utilizes parking lots, rooftops and utility poles.
Landfill PV projects are about 40% less expensive than typical residential net-metered projects, according to the utility, with the added benefit of reclaiming and reusing brownfield and landfill sites.
