The array, which utilises 186,000 First Solar thin-film modules, was built for Hamburg- based Luxcara Asset Management.
The project is located in Senftenberg on the site of a former opencast mining area, and will be ramped up to 18MW in a second construction phase.
Because the building plans were legally finalised before the cut-off date of 25 March, the second phase can be built in the second half of the year but will still be eligible for Germany’s current feed-in tariff (FIT).
