The plan will be a key element in the Liberal government’s drive to reduce provincial greenhouse gas emissions by 15% from 1990 levels by 2020, 37% by 2030 and 80% by 2050.
The government every five years will renew the plan, which calls for it to spend C$1.8bn to C$1.9bn ($1.41-1.49bn) a year on initiatives to reduce carbon emissions and save on energy costs.
