The conditional commitments from the Department of Energy’s Loan Guarantee Program – expanded through Obama’s economic stimulus bill – could create up to 3,600 construction jobs and some 1,600 permanent jobs.
The President on Saturday highlighted the job-creation potential of these projects, a day after a disappointing national employment report showed a net loss of jobs in June as temporary federal workers conducting the Census were let go.
