Duke will own the three solar farms in eastern North Carolina, whose output will help it comply with the state’s renewable energy portfolio standard.

The three acquired projects include the planned 65MW Warsaw Solar Facility in Duplin County, 40MW Elm City solar Facility in Wilson County and 23MW Fayetteville Solar Facility in Bladen County.

Duke expects construction to begin on the projects in early 2015, with completion by the end of next year.
