NGP will begin construction of the first 20MW PV facility this year under a 20-year off-take agreement awarded by President Ernest Bai Koroma's government.
Koroma has set a goal of adding 1GW of generation capacity through 2018. About 80% of the country’s inhabitants lack access to electricity. NGP says its international unit is discussing formation of a public-private partnership with the government to support the initiative.
