New York State to adopt 50% clean energy standard

Under Cuomo, the state had set a similar target that was not legally binding as part his administration’s 2015 energy plan.

“By mandating a Clean Energy Standard, we ensure that this goal is converted from aspirational to actionable,” Cuomo wrote in a letter to Audrey Zibelman, chief executive of the New York State Public Service Commission.
