Under the Shared Renewables Initiative, , which the Public Service Commission will launch later this year, electric utility ratepayers can team to share in the cost and environmental benefits of renewables projects.
Community members will each receive a credit on their monthly electric bill for generation of power returned to the grid.
The initiative will provide opportunities for businesses, homeowners, renters and schools to set up shared renewable energy projects.
