Sales increased more than 200% from a year earlier. The quarterly profit improves on a loss from the fourth quarter in 2009 and marks a 55.5% increase from the third quarter.
Profit per American Depository Share was $1.09.
The company also substantially expanded its margins, according to unaudited results released Thursday. Operating margin in the quarter was 22%, up from 17.7% in the third quarter and a negative margin the year earlier.
LDK is the leading wafer manufacturer and had 3GW of capacity at the end of 2010.
