The plant, which has been operational since July 2008, was built by BP Solar using its own photovoltaic modules. BP Solar will continue to maintain and operate the plant following the acquisition by Foresight.
The solar plant benefits from a 25-year fixed Spanish feed-in tariff, which is no longer accessible to new solar projects.
“This acquisition has expanded our portfolio of European solar investments, doubling our current capacity and building our presence in the highly attractive Spanish secondaries market,” says Jamie Richards, who manages Foresight’s solar fund.
