Investigation prompts Canadian Solar to delay Q1 results release

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has sent subpoenas to integrated solar manufacturer Canadian Solar seeking information about certain 2009 sales.

As a result, the company is delaying release of its first quarter 2010 financial results.

Canadian Solar also updated its guidance for the second quarter, calling for solar module shipments of 170 megawatts (MW) to 180MW – a decline from the first quarter. However, the company now expects full-year shipments of 700MW to 800MW, an increase from its previous range of 600MW to 700MW.
