Germany has about 1.5 million PV installations, and declining system prices are spurring demand for storage systems, which are expected to jump from about 35,000 now to 100,000 by 2018.
"More and more people are utilising solar storage technology to supply themselves with as much solar power as possible," says BSW managing director Carsten Körnig.
The price of storage units has fallen by around a third within the past two years, according to the BSW.
