Matinee claims to be developing solar projects worth nearly $5bn across sun-scorched states such as California and Arizona, and has persuaded JP Morgan to foot most of the bill.
Hyundai Heavy and LG, who were previously revealed as preferred bidders, have signed a memorandum of understanding with Matinee to build out the first 240-megawatt phase.
“This announcement – combined with the engagement of JP Morgan Securities to help with the permanent project-finance segment of the project – has finalised Matinee’s total financing solutions for those projects,” says Matinee chairman Michael Pannos.
