Heraeus files patent infringement suit against Taiwan's Giga Solar

Heraeus claims that Giga Solar violated its TWI432539 patent by selling a number of front-side silver pastes to PV cell producers in Taiwan.

The patent is related to leaded and lead-free tellurium glathat are used in the production of metallization pastes, Heraeus said in an online statement.

“The advances we are making in the production of metallization paste benefits the PV industry with significant improvements in solar cell technology,” said Andreas Liebheit, the head of Heraeus’ global PV division.
