More than 60 renewable energy projects are in operation and Honolulu ranks first among US cities in PV capacity per capita, according to the Hawaii State Energy Office.

The agency reports that PV accounted for $570m or 14% of all construction spending on the sun-drenched island chain in 2015 with 5,016 jobs in the sector.
