In its proposed integrated resource plan (IRP) filed earlier this year, Georgia Power was looking to buy 525MW of renewables over the next five years.
But the state's Public Service Commission (PSC) this week signed off on a revised IRP that includes at least 1,050MW of new large-scale renewables capacity, focusing heavily on utility-scale solar.
The PSC leaned on Georgia Power to up its renewables ambitions.
