Georgia Power to buy 1.6GW of renewables by 2021

State regulators prodded Georgia Power to more than triple its renewables procurement plans for the next five years, with the coal-heavy utility now set to buy 1.6GW of new renewables capacity by 2021, as wind and particularly utility-scale solar continue making rapid strides in the US south.
