First Solar, which already employs more than 600 people in Frankfurt an der Oder, says it is in “advanced talks” with authorities in the state of Brandenburg about jumping its production capacity from 223 megawatts (MW) to 446MW by the end of 2011.
The company currently has 1.3 gigawatts (GW) of production capacity spread across its facilities in the US, Germany and Malaysia, with three more factories under construction in France in Malaysia.
