First Solar scores $4.5bn in guarantees for 1.33GW of projects

The US Department of Energy gave a major boost to thin-film PV manufacturer and project developer First Solar with a conditional commitment to guarantee $4.5bn in loans to three California solar projects with a total capacity of 1.33GW.
