First Solar posts major sales, profit growth in 2009

Despite headwinds buffeting the solar industry, thin-film photovoltaic leader First Solar grew sales nearly 66% in 2009 to $2.07bn. Full-year profit was $640.1m, or $7.53 per share, up nearly 84% from 2008.
