The Italian company says it will invest about $18m (51.7m reais) to build Fontes Solar I andII in the City of Tacaratu in the northeastern state of Pernambuco.
The two projects won 20-year PPAs at Pernambuco's regional solar auction in December 2013, when a total of 123MW of solar power was sold in six projects – two owned by EGP. Of the winners, EGP is the first to announce start of construction.
