Both Enel Green Power and Endesa Chile are effectively controlled by Italian energy giant Enel.
The deal opens the door to EGP investing $611m into two wind projects and three PV plants in Chile, where it already owns 284MW of renewables capacity – and has another 284MW under construction.
EGP emerged as a major winner in Brazil’s recent solar tender, winning the right to build 254MW of PV capacity.
