The holding company’s Florida business unit will develop, own and operate a 5MW facility in Perry, a community in the northern part of the state. It will comprise 22,000 solar panels, an area equal to about 17 soccer fields.
Construction on the Perry Solar Facility will begin once all state and local permits have been received. Duke expects to have the plant in commercial operation in second quarter 2016.
