National Infrastructures Minister Uzi Landau signed the agreement with Ketura Sun, a joint venture between leading Israeli PV developer Arava Solar and Kibbutz Ketura, located near Eilat.
The 20-year deal mandates that the state-owned Israel Electricity Corporation purchase the energy generated at Ketura’s 4.9MW PV array at a price of 1.49 Israeli New Shekels ($0.41) per kWh.
The deal is expected to be worth 250m Israeli New Shekels over the next two decades.
