Conergy to expand PV module output by outsourcing

Conergy teetered toward bankruptcy throughout the last half of 2010, having been dragged into crisis by its decision to expand indiscriminately into a slew of renewables ventures, even before the recession hit.

But the Hamburg-based firm insists it has turned a corner, and its decision to expand module production – albeit through an outside manufacturer – underscores its determination to whittle down its focus the core activities of making PV components and developing solar projects.
