Shanghai-based CTIEC — a unit of of state-run China National Building Materials — will serve as general contractor for all four phases of the project, which is being built in cooperation with Myanmar’s Ministry of Electric Power.

Upon completion, the plant will be the biggest solar projects in Southeast Asia, CTIEC said in an online statement.

Green Earth Power finalised its plans to build the 850-acre site in October 2014, several months after signing an initial $275m deal with Myanmar’s government in May.

It
