California utilities sign PPAs with First Solar, NRG for 276MW

SCE says it will buy the output of First Solar’s planned 250MW Silver State South project in Nevada, on the border with California. The project, which awaits final permitting from the Bureau of Land Management, is to begin producing electricity as soon as 2014. It was one of 14 solar projects designated for “fast-track” review.
