The utility proposes to locate the solar farm in Boulder City, about 26 miles (42km) southeast of Las Vegas in Clark County.
NV Energy had earlier requested proposals to construct the facility. It later signed a 25-year power purchase agreement with Techren Solar, whose design calls for a high-efficiency single-axis PV project.
Assuming a green light by the Nevada Public Utilities Commission (PUC), plans call for it to be operational in fourth quarter 2018.
