The study, promoted by the two-year-old Brazilian Association of Energy Quality and Storage (Abaque), mapped the growing needs for storage in the Brazilian market.
The 95GW storage capacity could supply the whole of country's current demand for 24 hours, Abaque said.
Abaque identified demand from rooftop solar, hospitals and public services that need to guarantee supply 24 hours a day, projects to guarantee peak time supply, reduction of transmission costs from Brazil's continental national grid, off-grid systems, and from the electric vehicles market.
