The utility, which serves more than 933,000 customers in central Arizona, issued a request for proposal specifying its preference for plants sized between 5MW and 20MW in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area that can be connected directly to the distribution system.
In a 20-page request for proposals (PDF), Salt River Project (SRP) says it seeks both energy and renewable energy credits and will entertain proposals structured as power purchase agreements, including those with a SRP buyout option and/or prepayment for some output; or turnkey projects.
