The two companies say their joint efforts in the US and Europe will coverthe full range of PV installations, from residential to utility-scale,grid-connected arrays.

In Japan the partners will target storage for the non-residential sector,and will work together in the large-scale inverter segment.

Power-One will bring its inverter technology to the partnership, withPanasonic contributing its lithium-ion battery expertise.

Launching the co-operation agreement, the pair cited estimates of an $11bnglobal market for energy-storage systems by 2020.
