A sitting committee, made up of two members of the CEC and presided over by Commissioner Anthony Eggert, has been evaluating the project since 2009.
Eggert’s proposed decision – which serves as a recommendation to the full CEC – follows a CEC staff assessment, issued in May, saying the project’s impact on a range of issues from soil and water quality to public health would be “less than significant”, provided mitigation measures are followed.
