Utility Zimbabwe Power (ZPC) has signed off on the plan, which is among 300MW of capacity that is now planned for construction in the southern African nation, according to the Harare-based Chronicle.

Chint and Intratrek need to secure as much as $202m to finance the construction of the project near the town of Gwanda.

Separately, Chinese telecoms group ZTE has agreed to build a 100MW PV array for roughly $197m near the city of Bulawayo.
