The deal will give Bangchak control of SunEdison Japan’s entire 198MW solar portfolio in the country, according to a statement to the Stock Exchange of Thailand.
The US company currently runs 13MW of PV capacity in Japan, with 27MW under construction and an additional 158MW under development.
Under the agreement with SunEdison International and SunEdison Energy Holding (Singapore), Bangchak will purchase all outstanding shares of SunEdison Japan, SunEdison Japan Debt Financing and SunEdison TK Investor 1.
