In a regulatory filing SunEdison said it has been subpoenaed by the DoJ “seeking information and documentation” on a range of the matters that have made the company the subject of unwelcome headlines for the last few months.

The DoJ wants to know about “certain financing activities” relating to SunEdison’s $2.2bn attempt to acquire Vivint Solar – a deal that fell apart in early March when Vivint walked away – and “the conduct of a former non-executive employee who is alleged to have committed wrongdoing in connection with the Vivint termination negotiations”.
