The “growth capital” investment will allow SunPower to use Tendril’s proprietary Energy Services Management (ESM) software, which Tendril licenses to its “energy service provider” clients – primarily utilities – to sharpen their marketing approaches to potential customers.

Customers use Tendril’s cloud-based ESM platform to help them collect and interpret hundreds of data points about individual houses and their energy consumption patterns – from the size and age of a building to the existence of any energy-efficiency upgrades.
