The news, first reported by India’s Economic Times, comes less than a week after Netherlands-based AEG inaugurated a new 80,000 sq ft solar-inverter factory in Bangalore, where it aims to produce 400MW a year of its PV250 and PV500 inverter series.

AEG, which produces a variety of power-control products, and is owned by Amsterdam-listed 3W Power, was an early mover into the Indian solar market.
