In all three countries, PV is out-competing other renewables technologies, taking the lion's share of power-purchase agreements at recent auctions, according to the latest issue of GTM's Latin America Playbook. Although rooftop solar will also grow, 90% of new capacity will probably come from utility-scale tenders.
In 2017, Brazil and Mexico should out-pace Chile in installed capacity, says the report, which projects a market of close to 4GW next year.
